I got warned about asking questions like this ... But here it goes.
After having a few offs at the week end it was suggested i invest in some protective gear other than my helmet. Ie knee/ elbow padding etc.
I have had a look around and a lot of discussions i find are for products no longer in production or just dont seem to be what im looking for.
Hoping to find pads that wont restrict movement to much would be good if i could almost forget they there.
Seen a lot of either the 661, nuke proof, troy lee, one industries stuff around along with many other brands.
Any one wanna able to give me some feed back on any of the pads or make any suggestions?

TLD (Troy Lee) all the way, Ive not met anyone who didnt get on with them. Just measure up carefully and buy the correct size. Oh - and remember to ask here about tyres too

Thanks. Are the size charts on CRC good to go by ? Some comments suggest they are larger than the guides suggest.
I'll save the tyre question for another time but have notice some tyres are limted to other sizes than my 650b's.

I (and nameless others) fouled up initially by buying, say, Medium, 'cos thats what I normally am' only to find that ones arms are actually a Large ! CRC have got a great returns policy in case they aint quite right....

Has anyone had any experience of those fancy ones which are flexible until they take a hit, then stiffen up? Some sort of weird non-newtonian wizardry at work, but it seems like the holy grail.
Hard to find out which ones use it, it always seems buried about halfway through the final paragraph of the review...

I have 661 d3o pads. Seem ok, and although I've fallen off quite a few times (yes, really) my knees have never been damaged (so far, touch wood jinx). I bought some Nukeproof pads in Morzine when I lost one of the d3o's (later found under my bed, doh). They seem quite good, and as comfy as the d3o stuff. Yer pays yer money ...
