Need to get some miles in before Tour of Flanders in April and what better way than the tried and trusted Brighton and Back route. Any takers?

Sounds good if early and quick... What are expected start and finish times?

If I've rediscovered my cycling legs by then, I'd love to join up just north of Redhill as usual.

Sounds good if early and quick... What are expected start and finish times? It's waggers ride so i will let him quote the start time but riding time is usually about 7 hours. Plus say 45 minutes at the Regency Cafe for the obligatory bacon/fried egg buttie and mug of char

Sorry, thought I had replied the other day. Great to see there's a few of us - reckon there are another 3 local chaps as well. Think will be an early start time - say 6.30 from Toby Carvery next to Ewell East station. Will confirm closer to the time.

Hi Jase, There's good news and there's bad news. The good news is that I have a real posse of riders all keen to join us on the ride. At the last count there were the following: Richard (Me) gregMartin Marco Ogi David David's TT mate Kayleigh Shaun The bad news is that cos they all live in a number of different locations ranging as far away as Chiselhurst and Bishops Stortford (that's out in the Essex badlands) we won't be ready to ride at 7 a.m. Our target is 8-30 a.m. at Belmont bus station. However, please don't change your ride time because of me. All it takes is a puncture or two and we will probably hook up somewhere along the route. Our target point is the Regency restaurant for a bacon and fried egg sarnie before heading back so if we both make good time we may be rocking up just as you are ready to leave. The weather looks good, slightly chilly but dry and not too windy so here's to a great day's riding. We also need to sort out another date to do a repeat of this ride because Cas has built an alternative route back which takes us further east (rather than the westward return) and takes in lots more climbing including the long drag up and over Ashdown forest. but that's definitely one for a milder day cos it's quite open and a lot tougher than the 'standard' route. Let me know if you want to 'see' the route on Garmin connect and i will share it. Here's hoping to see you and Nick FG somewhere en route on Sunday Richard

That's a shame. Hopefully bump into you somewhere on route. Will definitely be up for Cas' alternative route.

batbling good stuff. Yes deffo repeating this. Also planning on riding in (although I was born in Surrey a lot of people think i was born in...) Kent on BH Monday 28th April. you up for this? waggers i don't want us to drain our phone batteries but perhaps we could use the 'send location' function and then we would have a rough idea of where we are during the day e.g. if you stop for a breather at the top of Ditchling then send your location and I will either be at Turners hill or somewhere miles away.
