Evening chaps, been a while but I'm back out on the bike again. Not often enough it seems but trying to maintain a pretence at least. You can see my recent efforts at Coed Y Brenin on Strava if you search for this username.
Off to Wales again this friday with a bunch of mates and have the option of Cwmcarn on the way or heading straight to Afan to do White's Level again ( we did this last year too).
Would appreciate your thoughts on which is best for an unfit, just above beginner level person who's still on a hardtail having not saved up enough for a full susser! My thinking is Cwmcarn could be a real laugh and another one to tick off the list...
Cheers

Cwmcarn is shorter but the climb is techno and steep in places - not as gradual as whites. The descent is less rocky than whites. There is a second new trail at CC now which also gets good reports.

Is this just a day trip? I'd say Cwmcarn now it has two trails. As batty says the climb is a bit techno in places, but I've only ever done it on a hard tail and is was fine. The new Cafall is a right hoot.
So Twrch in the am, spot of lunch then hit cafall.

You also have the option of the road climbs at cwmcarn to save time which let's you get more descending in. For the last run of the day you can ask if the uplift has space and pay 3.50 and get driven to the top of the twrch then enjoy he last run with freshish legs.
Would be keen to go back for another day trip

Was tossing up whether the November BPW overnight crew might be interested in doing both trails here rather than Afan? a) because I (most of us) haven't done the new trail yet, b) the old ones climb is a nice challenge. Thoughts?

Yea - I am easy. A full assault on W2 might be nasty if the weathers crap.
