This is a calling notice for one of the most popular end of season events - the New Forest Gridiron. A 100km jaunt in the 'wilds' of the forest and moorland of southern England - and it hasn't got too cold yet!! Sue and H are going on the tandem. Don't forget, this is the last big training ride before Coed-y-Brenin!! The ride is [glow=red,2,300]this[/glow] Sunday, 12th October and starts from New Boldre Village Hall. Check-in from 9am and ride starts at 10am. £3.50 advanced entry - print a form available at ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/keith_matthews/grentry.htm or £5 on the day.

Thx for the post, Rich. Top day was had - turned out to be 70 miles in the end, with a strong easterly wind most of the day. Still, it didn't rain a drop, complete contrast from last year ;D Next up - Coed-y-Brenin - back to the dirt

I have promised to come out on a road ride for many a long month and never actually made it.
Now that I have given up riding to work (not prepared to travel all that way on main roads in the dark) I will prolly want to get some more mileage under my belt.
Plenty of notice is the best policy...

Well it's all 'own rides' until the new season (apart from a Hampshire 100km we'll prob. not do this w/e) so we can sort a date out now, huh?
