Fishybob666 re: Pads, wold organic be best all year round for all our local riding too? yes deffo. a few people may use sintered in the winter but i dont think the Surrey Hills' mud is gritty enough to warrant them + i find screaming brakes off putting

The red Kevlar ones are a good compromise - harder wearing than organic and quieter than sintered.

Cheers for that link by the way I should have mine tomorrow, really wanted the reverb but realised how much extra the new bike has cost so that'll have to wait

However I don't currently have any frame that takes 31.6mm, this can only mean one thing...time for another project!

Love it - buy a part for a bike you don't have, then build the bike around it! Will have to see if that will work here - just off to buy a flat blade DeeMax spoke, then explain to the missus how I will have wasted the £1.50 on it if I don't buy £4k-worth of bits to 'just finish it off'...

Haha sounds like a good idea! Got anything in mind? Well the last bike i built got me more than i expected which in turn will fund this! Thinking of a 26" burly long travel steel hardtail, a la Stanton. I already have some 170 Domain forks (will be reduced to 150), 36 wide rimmed wheels and all other parts. All i need is a suitable frame and i spotted one with the same geometry as a slackline (1lb heavier but much cheaper). Any other suggestions? Again this will probably be sold on straight away
