Now I've got my road bike I think it would be wise to finally buy a bike computer. Can anyone recommend one to me... I'd like it to do speed, mileage, HR and not cost more than £100....

Speed and Mileage I think you cant beat the Specialized one. Its big...fits perfectly onto the head set and is simple and accurate and costs between 19 - 39 quid ( last one has cadence possibilities ) yfrog.com/eiimg1033wjHowever I don't know if they now do one with a heart rate monitor ( actually I just checkwed and they dont ) If you really want to go for something good you either have to get a Polar ( S725x ) or a Garmin ( 405 )...but they are more than what you want to spent BTW if you loved the Ride to RP and back, let me show you some good stuff around us one day....so much around

I like the Cateye Strada computer I have got although it doesn't have HRM. Unfortunately I picked up the wired rather than wireless version but when I realised this whilst I was in my garage that evening i couldnt be bothered to take it back the next day and fitted it anyway. The wireless attachment to the fork is sooo much better than the wired version.

The Polar CS300 fits the bill at £100 and you can also use it for other sports as it is a watch as well. You can add a cadence sensor for another £25.
Not tried one personally but I have used Polar HRM before and they work well.

Bring it on Woolly
You have my number..call me
Btw..I might be selling my Polar S 725x to upgrade to a Garmin. Would you be interested. I have had it for about 1 year and its in perfect condition
If yes, I will start my research into the Garmin to see if it makes sense

I have had a Polar 300 cycling watch for just over a year which I use in the gym and on the bike. Had no trouble with it gives pretty much all the data you could want. It also can link to the PC (which I have not done) Polar 725 looks a better watch if Cas will do you a deal...............

Cas,
I ordered a Polar CS200CAD last night for £79 . If you'd said earlier I would have had the s725x off you - sorry.
I'll get in touch with you the next few nights to sort something out for the weekend.. dont want to do anything too long and arduous at this stage - I know how fit you are!!

Matey, if I was not weekend on I would be in there like swimwear.. I have to work every other weekend now (Not in such a cushty job these days).. Be good to see the route on Google maps or something though, I get so bored with my standard just aimless cycling locally..
