12 weeks to go and we should be thinking about renewing those pads or buying some protection ( Fishybob666 insert knob gag here). Protection in the form of pads plus extreme sport insurance Don't forget you will need insurance and you need to get the extreme level (Downhill mountain biking - non competitive - Extreme cover on the Dogtag site). Snowcard or Dogtag are the go-to providers. You really don't want to be helicoptered off the mountain and faced with paying a £12k bill without insurance. In fact, you really don't want to be helicoptered off the mountain in any case actually, but it makes it worse if you have to pay for the chopper yourself - Fishybob666 insert knob gag here. Oh and to make it a hat-trick of mentions for Fishybob666 , can you let us know how you got on with your Evoc back protector last year? A couple of us are thinking of getting something similar. Is it a useful back pack too? Looks quite large, can you get loads of stuff in there etc. And finally, with the news that a certain un-named Frenchman is moving back to France soon it looks like we have another space in the car with terry and myself for company. Is anyone regretting not booking a week away and fancies joining us? Shout now if you do.

Evoc back protectors are great but fairly bulky so not one for every day trail riding in the Slurry Hills I also have a hardly used 661 EVO full facer in size Large if anyone interested? A bit too big for me. Btw, I still intend to come to the trip and use your services on the way out but probably leave earlier on the Tuesday night. Will call you next week when I'm back

Less than ten weeks to go and we have another rider joining us. Grant (username Glenith) will be travelling down with me so we will have four up on the journey down and three on the way back (Laurent is staying in France rather than travelling back with us). Bring it on!

Hi Robin, good to hear from you. Are you the carbon Capra owner? I think we met briefly in Pitch Hill car park last year. It would be great to have you along but I think the accomodation is getting pretty full now. we also have two full car loads. So I'm struggling to see how we can fit you in. Does anyone else who is coming along have any thoughts? Fishybob666 , terry . Glenith , epic , dave If we can't get you in the chalet you could get your own accommodation and then you are of course welcome to hook up with us for the week. Here's hoping we can sort something out

oh well, the Dilbert principle of leaving a problem alone and it will sort itself out worked again. terry had a big off yesterday evening and has broken his collarbone so won't be able to make the trip. He has offered his place to robinbl

Sorry to hear about Terry, that sucks. Bad news are like buses, bladiblah...my knee had been bothering me for a while, had an MRI scan and it turns out I have torn cartilage and may need an operation if things don't improve soon. Will have to see how it goes over the next couple of weeks before taking a final decision on the trip :-(
On the bright side, the chalet is paid and there's now space for Robin!

A real shame about Terry we were going to ride this Friday, and no I wasn't riding with him so no sabotage on my part. Yes I am the rider of the Capra, it would be great to meet up for a ride if you are going out in the next week or so...

Well this is sounding unfortunate. Hope you guys fix up quickly!
I'm still coming, hopefully. I should be available for the odd local ride going forward, maybe next time James/Dave are out?

Six weeks or 42 sleeps and a wake-up to go... Fishybob666 ; when will you know if you are coming cos I need to: a) sub-let the space you have booked in my car b) get said person to pay towards the eurotunnel ticket that you haven't paid yet ( terry has paid me ironically) If you are on NHS then nothings happening re your knee until September at the earliest or are you on a private health plan? robinbl and deepmud, i will post up separately re a ride on Sunday if you can make it

Hi Folks Sorry I cant make it. I arranged for Robin to take my place and take over my share of the cost (he will do this direct to me)... Ok, so I paid for the room £170 and my share of the eurotunnel cost to Richard £46.67.
I will text Robin with my details.
This should just leave a share of the fuel costs which Robin can sort out with Richard...
Really sorry to be missing this. Catch you back on the MB in about 10 weeks.

If they book me before July then unfortunately i'll have to cancel. Really want to make this trip so fingers crossed it will happen. Got a new wheel set just for the Alps so would be bummed not to be able to have the big bike's yearly outing.

Bad news, i'm going ahead with the knee operation so unfortunately i will have to cancel this trip :-(
Re. logistics, I understand Robin is replacing Terry and Glenith was added so that should still make it 6 of you for the trip. 5 have paid £170 each (Dave, Robin/Terry, Richard, Epic, Deepmu) which covers the £850 chalet rental, now paid in full. So i imagine Glenith will pay for £170 worth of Mutzig once in Morzine? I guess it's now down to you lot to decide.
Mighty disappointed not to make it but hopefully i'll join in the 2017 trip, why not make down to the Pyrenees for a change ;-)

sorry to hear that Fishy but thanks for confirming so quickly. We will have a full chalet and two full cars still so no problem there. I will sort out the money situation later this evening in terms of who owes whom what (if anything) but in summary you need refunding and Glenith needs to pay something. I think deepmud also needs to pay something still plus robinbl will cover off whatever terry has already paid. with me still? good. Five weeks and two days to go.
