Give me a moment and i will paste a link to Garmin Connect up here. you should be able to save it as a course and add it to your Garmin from there.

To be confirmed, but reckon 6.15-6.30 start. Very welcome to join us.
Can view the file, but when saving as .gpx doesn't seem a big enough file and then not copying to Garmin. I can get it into my Garmin Connect, but doesn't like sharing courses i.e. I usually have to save to computer and then copy into 'new files' folder on device. Any ideas?

although once it's in my Garmin i save as course and then save to device although i cant see these options at the moment on the new fangled Garmin connect design. I've never had any success in dropping files directly into the new files folder

Sorted it by rather painfully recreating it on Strava. Job done though. Let us know if you're interested.

Got the day free so I only need to check the weather forecast/wind speed and direction and check that I'm feeling good. Let me know the details and i will confirm one way or the other on Saturday. Would be good to get a 100-miler under my belt ahead of the London to Paris next month (see separate thread). I appear to have two mobile numbers for you in my phone. one ending 0795 and the other ending 2647. Is one, t'other or neither your current mobile? (Mine is still the one that ends 6184). How many of you and are you interested in any more joining you? My mate Greg is usually up for these and he's very chilled, can ride fast if required but is happy to go at whatever speed the peloton is riding.

Great and yes Greg is more than welcome. Have just sent a note out to confirm other riders, but have suggested 6.15 start from Toby Carvery on Cheam Road.
Use the 0795 number and still have yours.
And agree, weather dependent. If it's not looking great, wind in wrong direction, we'll probably do something more local c. 60 miles.
A few of us have the 140 mile Dragon at the start of June so this month is all about the 100 milers.

I can go! Weather looks ok but biggish headwind on the way down Should be ok if we chain gang and share the front See here if in doubt;
Notice how the outside line is riding at a slightly higher effort than the inside line, where the pace is about 1 mph less, no brakes, constant rotation. The outside line does not accelerate or surge at the front. The only acceleration that happens is at the back when joining the outside line from the inside line. We could do similar with single line of riders. Front rider peels off to the right as the line comes through on the inside and the rider tucks in on the back by speeding up slightly. It is up to this rider when at the front, to slow by 1 mph or so, to let the line come through at a constant pace. Some or all of you may know this already, but just saying! This will make it easier on the way down.

Hi Rob, good to have you on board! Think Mersham is about 10-11 miles in so should be there by 7am. Richard what do you think as not 100% on the actual meeting point? Think I've got 3 others confirmed so will be a nice sized group.

This looks like a great ride. I've not ridden with you guys for ages, so would love to come along. Hope that's ok? The meeting point with Rob is very good for me as well. I'm training for the Etape du Tour again, so need to chalk up some more miles.

Hi Tim,
yeah, come along and share the wind/feel the burn.
Jason/Tim/Rob,
Looking at my link above:
- I meant meet at the bottom of Rockshaw Road (not Rocky Lane). It's still the same place we met last time, i just confused it in my mind - it's on the route just north of the M25 on the map. So we do the descent past Fanny's Farm Shop (tell us the joke again Rob), turn left onto Gatton bottom and as we reach the end and cross the A23 Rob and Tim should be sitting there waiting for us - it took us 45 minutes to get there last time (click the location on the map and it will show you on the stats below how long it took to arrive there) so if we leave at say 6-30 then we will be there at 7-15 in the a.m.
BTW, I'm a definite now. Committed.
BTW II. Greg can't make it, he's doing a 70.3 in France.
No, I didn't know what it was either so I Googled it. The "70.3" refers to the total distance in miles (113.0 km) covered in the race, consisting of a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim, a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride, and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run. Each distance of the swim, bike, and run segments is half the distance of that segment in an Ironman triathlon.

How fast is the pace going to be? I'm new to this road malarkey thing so not sure what to expect. I can hold a 25+km/h with no trouble whilst commuting but never rode in a bunch. On the light bike I would expect the pace to be a bit higher? How long to you expect the whole ride to take? All suggestions welcome. Depending on what the boss has planned I could be in for the whole thing or peel off in Brighton.

Fishy, I've no idea of the pace of Jason's buddies but I expect us to do an average of 15mph. That's over the whole 100 miles so it will also be circa 7 hours of riding.
You are welcome to join us and can jump on the train in Brighton if you are struggling/ Only £14'ish for the return journey.
I don't actually expect us to ride as Rob has illustrated up there. you gotta know and trust the other riders and all be experienced to ride properly like that. We will just bimble along roughly together as we always do. However your MTB rad footpath skillz plus experience of being around other riders on London commutes will stand you in good stead and you should be able to fit right in.

Weather for Monday is now looking positively shite. Unless forecast improves then I doubt you'll see me spending 7h under heavy rain. Time to get back on the rigid ss, damn >:-(

Yeah I like your thinking Rob. ~It's ok in the morning so if we can get going ASAP, no faffing then we can make it to Brighton early. If it starts pissing down then jump on the train home and yes, brekkie at The Regency
