Can anyone tell me where I can get the lacing pattern for a 36 spoke wheel that has the spokes set out in 9x4 configuration? Would we also need to get a 9x4 specific hub?

The spoke holes in the rim are not evenly spaced. They are spaced in 9 groups of 4 holes. Kind of like .... .... .... .... all around the rim. They are road/hybrid wheels.

Wonderful thing the internet www.lfgss.com/thread80426.htmlOne of many hits on the topic - google '9x4 spoke' - good luck !! The next step will be working out what length spokes you need ! Also is this a new wheel or respoking an old one. If it's an old one there is am easy technique to replicate the pattern.

Top thread find Batman! Cam, you may be able to work out the spoke lengths by using a calculator (such as Spocalc - it will easily cope with your needs) but for the number of spokes, use the number there would be if there were holes of that spacing all around the rim (72??). I think then you need to take account they would be laced 4-cross too, rather than the 2-cross they are at the moment (and only 2-cross by virtue of the fact there are missing spokes of which you can't count the crossing). Don't forget to measure your ERD correctly either. My funkiest wheel so far is a mere hybrid crow's foot on a 32H
