Came across a review of these Uberbike aftermarket finned brake pads, look pretty good. Poking around, they seem to be another Superstar – British-made components at very reasonable prices. Some nice bling too – if only these chainrings were available in narrow-wide . They sponsor the Steve peat Syndicate too, so can't be all bad. Is it just me that hasn't heard of them?

They're also launching a range of reusable fins adapters that would fit to normal pads, genius. Sorry Si

Plus you have to use their pads in the finned adaptors, but if they're any good, that's not a bad thing. <kiss of death> When the last set of the seemingly-indestructable pads I bought from Artour's Dad's shop in the Alps dies, ima get some of those. </kiss of death>

661 knee pads...
There seems to be loads of different types out there but I see most of you wearing the same ones with white font on the black knee pad. Which version of the pads are there?

I think you might be talking about the 661 Rage (replacement to the Kyle Strait pads) or Evo with soft D3o which molds to the shape of your knee. Alternatively a lot of people wear the troy lee designs KG which are very light. I have the 5450 which covers down half your shin. The 5400 is knee only and pretty thin, too small in my view and would easily move/ride up in a crash (Batbling at Dest.X can attest). There's also no straps to adjust so finding the right fit is crucial, usually one size down. My personal favourite are the Raceface ambush, nice coverage including sides, "magic" D3o material which hardens on impact, and you can put them on/remove without taking your shoes off.

Yup - although to be fair,, the soft bit rode up so although I still got a gash, the hard bit did its job and saved my knee (shame It'd ruined my shoulder the day before !). The shoe on/shoe off thing can be a pain if you are old and forgetful like me and put your shoes on before first remembering to pad up. Sizing - measure your guns and buy the pad that fits that sizing regardless of whether your measurement relates to a XS or XXL on the TLD sizing chart thingy. Sounds like you'll go for RF anyways...

About 3 weeks ago I installed one of these onto my Fox on the Ghost. £70 worth it? Yep IMO, running a far higher air pressure +50 psi and far less damping and had to fit a smaller air volume spacer but all is very good. Read the tech in the blog. Note the the 2016 Fox have come out with a similar can on their shocks but you can't retrofit it onto older shocks. A cheaper option if you don't like how your shock is feeling. linkYou can check out how your bike travel works on this site linkPinkbike explaination link

Now let's start the guessing game, Mars bar AND Haribo for correct answer
