I have noticed lately a great deal of MTBikers buying "road" bikes. A brilliant idea to keep the legs spinning through the winter months. I saw these www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=22908on CRC and thought it would make an ideal addition to a MTB - can be used off road, on road or as a commute bike. I'd buy one if I didnt have the Jake.

With an FSA Gossamer MegaExo crank 53/39 and that tiny rear cassette, those hills will be much harder work than on the MTB ! A great way to get fit Seems alot of bike for the dosh and looks great

Richard, I love the Bianchi - first saw one of the same colour in Corridori and always wanted one.. cheers woolly. I agree, the colour does it for me too. They also do white colour bikes but if you are going to get a bianchi then i cant see the point in not getting one in their 'signature' colours. it would be like buying a model T ford in red! But what especially did it for me was the ride 2 work scheme which sees me paying £700 back over 12 months, interest free but out of my PRE-tax salary. So with 40% tax plus national insurance out of the equation that means i actually pay just £420 for the bike.

Nice Muddy! looks great think im gonna have to chop in my Langster for a proper roadie as i dont fancy this Lands End to John O Groats on a singlespeed. I was looking at the Pinnacles or maybe even a secondhand Quintana Roo. ;D

I might try one - never ridden a bike with drop handle bars though so don't know if it would agree with me. The job is currently looking at a new Ride2work scheme which hopefully will be arranged by April - so I might even get one. Might see if Corridori do Demos..

Congratulations on the new bike Muddy - good choice. I always wanted a Bianchi and certainly haven't been disappointed with my Via Nirone, but of course you get the funky new curvy frame. Hills are hard work on mine and I wouldn't want to to LE to JO'G on it, but it is great fun blatting around the lanes, or racing roadies around Richmond Park and was ideal for triathlons. I fancy supplementing mine with something a bit more comfy and durable for touring, commuting and so on at some stage. Maybe a Cotic Roadrat...

With an FSA Gossamer MegaExo crank 53/39 and that tiny rear cassette, those hills will be much harder work than on the MTB ! Just checked the Raleigh and that has 52/42 on the front and 24 on the rear. That means the Bianchi matches up quite nicely against that with a 53/39 on the front and 25 on the rear cassette means its actually easier up the hills. Oh, plus of course the fact that it weighs about a third of what the raleigh does ;D

Dont pull that tone of face with me young man, What I meant is you look like a mountain biker despite the spandex shorts (Which is a good thing I think) Not the spandex shorts, the look !

You just dont look like a roadie It's the hairy legs that give it away. Still, once his bathroom's finished, "the roady shave" beckons
