From this;To this; It's been a labour of love, searching the net for all the right parts and getting the colour of the frame correct. Pearsons in Sutton got it spot on - thanks to Matthew, Guy and William. All the old parts were sold off and new ones purchased so its basically a new bike! Spec as follows, Roberts handmade frame and fork from Columbus steel with Campag spearhead lugs and Cinelli BB shell (made by Chas Roberts in 1982) 1980's classic "Ford Capri" orange paint job Formula hubs laced to Xero rims (rear fixed/fixed, 17/18) Vittoria white tyres Diacompe front brake and caliper with white outer KMC 1/8 SS chain Sugino RD48 chainset Shimano SPD 520 pedals Sugino BB Campag Classic seat bolt Nitto 65 seat post Brooks honey leather B17 with copper rails Nitto flat bars Nitto NJS 100mm stem Tange "Chorus" headset BBB leather "stitched" grips Knog rear light I am really pleased with the way it has turned out, and yeah I know, it's not a mountain bike, but I will be using it as my summer commute bike. (sorry about the quality of the pics but I had only just got it finished and and my camera phone is rubbish!)

Those eagle eyes amongst you will have noticed that I have had all the cable guides, stops, gear bosses and front/rear mech hangers removed. This was done by Pearsons frame builder, Cliff. As Terry says I think it has resulted in a the frame having a smooth clean finish.

For pix, what you really need is some 1980's bike wear with a 1980's backdrop or do you just want pictures of the bike?

Bike only ! I dont fancy donning any purple spandex just yet Lee is up for doing some pics - how about you both do it and learn/discuss with each other whilst I put my feet up and have a cup of tea!

No not purple - you got a wear something the same color as the bike with a nice afro wig on and colorful braces. Otherwise I'm not doing it.

Very nice Rob. You've even got the wheel in perfectly straight. I'm sure that it will be an interesting contrast between the width of those bars and you're Five.

Red lights on the back, surely? Knog looks lit on that photo. Maybe it isn't and they are red after all? Let us know when you've broken the Brooks in

Its a red light on the rear but the flash on the camera has caused a reflection making it look white (the bulbs not the casing!) . I am looking forward to wearing in that saddle. . . . Not! Cas. . . . I prefer BMW 's !
