Just for your information " Fat Boy "..I weigh 75.4kg well that must be how you beat me up the hills then cos i am dragging up an extra 10kg or 22lbs (or the equivalent of carrying another bike up the hill with me)... It also probably accounts for how I hit 41.1mph on the Pebble Hill descent too!

lightweight! All amended now. C'mon, who is gonna post a time next, Rob?
Whoever posts next, copy and paste the table then slot your own details in wherever they fit.
If you know how, embolden your own name (and remove the bold brackets from the last poster currently me) so it's easy to find the latest addition.

Rich how gutting was it to get overtaken while filming yourself trying to do it as fast as possible. Don't think I'd make it sub 10mins myself, not sure I'd do it sub 15.

I timed myself up box hill last night, in very warm conditions, during my commute back from work - Starting LHD and finishing Worester Park via Walton-on-Hill, Epsom downs, Ewell bypass (BTW Best time of 55mins). I managed a 7:46 and I weigh 85 Kgs and I had a rucksack with work stuff in weighing around 1.5Kgs. Flix your time is impressive mate, you must of felt a sting in your thighs at the top ??

Looks as though i need to work a bit harder ! My excuses are as follows !
1. i had a heavy-ish rucksack on with my work stuff in 2. i was on a steel cyclocross = heavy = no carbon components! 3. there was a head wind 4. my knee hurt 5. had a very long busy day at work(i did it on my commute home) 6. my front brake was rubbing 7. my tyres weren't pumped up properly 8. i have a blister 9. my shoulder hurts 10. i'm not as fast or fit as the rest of you ! (this is the real reason!!)

excuse number 10 is the main reason!
i will admit to carrying the back pac and riding a heavy cyclocross bike, but the rest are pure fabrication!

Can we make it into a downhill challenge instead. One of my guys at work does it in 5.45 on his road bike. Last time I follow him home from work

Flix, I ride a Scott Spark 30 with 2.2" tyres. Approx 24.5lbs. I rode the hill with rear shock locked out and in the big 44T chain ring.
5:45 !!! that is quick! I think with a road bike it is considerably easier though. But still, road bike alone is worth only about 20-30 seconds I reckon. That still makes me more than 7 mins on a road bike ! Any idea what that guy that did 5:45 eats ?
P.S. I don't know if i imagine it or it's physcolgical but the steepest/ most demanding bit seems to be bit that goes past the carpark just before the first Zig ??

I reckon a road bike is a lot faster Lloyd.
Having seen how fast you ride, I reckon you'd easily be sub-7minutes on one. Even compared to a fully rigid lightweight mtb with slicks , a road bike is a remarkable amount faster. It's worth at least 2 mph higher average speed for me on my hilly-ish commute for less effort expended.

I think we are still trying to establish whether that was up or down! P.S. I don't know if i imagine it or it's physcolgical but the steepest/ most demanding bit seems to be bit that goes past the carpark just before the first Zig ?? You are correct. The steepest part of the climb is all BEFORE the first 'zig' i.e. once you pass the car park and turn sharp left and start encountering the traffic calming humps you have already covered the steepest bit. This is confirmed by some of those blokes out there who have those GPS things. Once you know that it seems to make the rest (mentally) easier.

5.45 up !!. To be fair he is sponsored by a bunch of people (scott and panasonic to name a few) and ride regularly with several elite road riders (they can do it in nearly 5 mins apparently).
Its horrible to realise how much fit these top level riders are.
