Listen up mofo’s. Spring is well and truly here and the trails are drying up fast. Tim has offered to lead us on his instant classic ‘alternative 3 hills plus Ranmore Common’ ride as ridden by me, him, the muffin man and some other bloke way back in October last year This is a great route with some new trails, some old classics, eight gates and many, many miles. It’s a leg-burner for sure. Circa 25 miles and 4 hours so time-wasters need not apply Meeting point is the Starveall car park on Leith Hillat 9-20 for a 9-30 off. Mind that height barrier on the entrance and don't be late. Bring yer riding legs and lots of supplies!

Looking forward to this, should be a good one. By the last climb you'll be questioning my parentage and your own sanity! haha

Looking forward to this, should be a good one. By the last climb you'll be questioning my parentage and your own sanity! haha I was questioning both on the first climb! Don't think I can remember a ride that was quite as cold and wet. Even so it was good to get out, and thanks Tim for showing me some new trails.

Well, what a ride. Never been that wet, cold and muddy from a ride before. When I got home I hosed the bike down followed by all my cycling clothes & bag. They were all coated in a layer of mud and clay.
I usually have a post ride shower but had a bath instead to try and warm my legs back up, which had pretty much seized up near the end of the ride. My face was so muddy, I had mud and grit in my eyes, nose, ears ... everywhere!
I'd say the ride was character building haha

Just the weather for singlespeeds then ;D I was actually out in it too - standing for 3 hours in a field just north of Coldharbour, with occasional periods of lying face down. Had a great morning though

Very convenient Don't worry I've learned my lesson. Ended up going for a miserable run in the lashing rain. As if that wasn't bad enough, I strained a muscle in my back and no biking for a week or so!

You made it too easy for 'em Tezza Must have been some event on because there were a load of soggy MTBers with various levels of waterproofing and size of rucksack on the road out of Dorking.
